Crackle varnish Transparent Classic 2x100 ml

A two-steps water based crackle varnish that dries clear, making it ideal for creating a cracked porcelain or aged, crackled effect over painted decorative designs or plain basecoated surfaces. It is great for acrylic and picture crackling techniques. It is recommended to use the dry brush horizontally for evenly distribution.

1. Apply the Step 1 of  crackle varnish. Dry it for 2 - 3 hours without a hairdryer. Step 1 must become transparent completely! 

2. Apply the Step 2 of crackle varnish. Leave it to dry for 4-5 hours without a hairdryer. Fine cracks will appear on drying. If the cracks are not appear in 4- 6  hours, you can use hairdrier to give a boost.

3. To emphasize the cracks apply solvent based patina CL006, CL007, CL017.... Remove excess patina by clean and dry fabric.onto the surface.

4. The second layer of varnish will not become waterproof when dried. Apply a layer of solvent based varnish one day after finishing the cracked surface.

The pattern of cracks depends on the thickness of the Step 1 applied.
