Fineline Crackle Varnish Transparent 2x70 ml

A two-steps water based crackle varnish that dries clear, making it ideal for creating a cracked porcelain or aged, crackled effect over painted decorative designs or plain base coated surfaces. It is great for acrylic and picture crackling techniques. It is recommended to use the dry brush horizontally for evenly distribution.

1. Apply the Step 1 of  crackle varnish. Dry it for 2 - 3 hours without a hairdryer. Step 1 must become transparent completely! 

2. Apply the Step 2 of crackle varnish. Leave it to dry for 4-5 hours without a hairdryer. Fine cracks will appear on drying. If the cracks are not appear in 4- 6  hours, you can use hairdrier to give a boost.

3. To emphasize the cracks apply patina CL006, CL007 or CL017. Remove excess patina by clean and dry fabric.

4. The second layer of varnish will not become waterproof when dried. Apply a layer of solvent varnish one day after finishing the cracked surface.

The pattern of cracks depends on the thickness of the Step 1 applied.
